Making Space for Self Care in the New Year 🌿✨

The new year is an ideal time to focus on self care and well being, especially within memory care. Consistent support with daily personal care such as dressing, grooming, bathing, medication routines, and mealtime assistance helps individuals with memory loss feel calm, supported, and less overwhelmed. With these needs gently managed, residents can conserve energy, enjoy familiar routines, and engage more fully in each day.

Memory care also brings relief to families. Loved ones are able to spend time together simply as family, sharing conversation and connection rather than focusing on care tasks. As the year begins, creating space for self care supports comfort, dignity, and peace of mind for everyone involved.

Easy Vegetable Soup for Memory Care 🥣

This simple vegetable soup is warm, nourishing, and easy to enjoy, making it a comforting option for memory care. Soft textures and familiar flavors help support hydration and overall wellness.

Ingredients
🥕 diced carrots
🥔 diced potatoes
🧅 chopped onion
🥬 chopped spinach or zucchini
🍅 canned diced tomatoes
🫗 low sodium vegetable broth
🌿 olive oil
🧂 pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions
1️⃣ Heat olive oil in a large pot and gently sauté the onion until soft
2️⃣ Add carrots and potatoes, stirring for a few minutes
3️⃣ Pour in diced tomatoes and vegetable broth
4️⃣ Simmer until all vegetables are tender
5️⃣ Stir in spinach or zucchini and cook until soft
