👖✨ Turning dressing skills into playtime magic! ✨👖

Learning to get dressed doesn’t have to be boring, we make it an adventure! In this fun activity, kiddos “step into their pants” using a giant stretchy band, building strength, balance, and independence along the way. 💪

Each pull, hop, and giggle helps them:
🌟 Strengthen core and leg muscles
🌟 Practice balance and coordination
🌟 Build confidence doing it all by themselves!

💡 Ready to help your child master self-dressing (and have a blast doing it)? Book a session with us today!

Kids feeling wiggly, overwhelmed, or needing a reset? 🧠✨

Sensory breaks are a simple way to help their bodies feel calm, organized, and ready to focus again.

Here are 5 of our favorite quick & easy sensory break ideas.

These take less than 5 minutes and make a BIG difference for attention, regulation, and mood. 💛

Save this for later + share with another parent or teacher who needs it!

When flu season hits and every kid walks in sniffling 😅
SLPs everywhere: disinfecting, Lysol-ing, and saying a little prayer between sessions 🙏🧼

Stay healthy out there, friends, we’re all in this together 💪🤧

Meltdowns and shutdowns aren’t “bad behavior” they’re signs of overwhelm. 💭

Understanding the triggers behind them helps us respond with empathy instead of frustration.

Common triggers include:
💡 Sensory overload
💬 Social or communication overwhelm
🔄 Changes in routine or predictability

At FUNctional Pediatric Therapy, we focus on helping kids build regulation skills and helping families understand the why behind the behavior. 💛

If your child constantly kicks, presses, or pushes their feet into you, it’s not always “acting out.” 🦶✨

They might be craving proprioceptive input (deep pressure through their feet)!

Try these grounding activities:
🏋️ Wall sits
🍂 Sweeping or raking leaves (hello, fall fun!)
🐻 Bear crawls

These give that “just right” sensory input to help regulate and calm the body. 💛

Real talk for SLP grads 👇
You’ll make mistakes. You’ll grow. You’ll cringe at your old goals and that means you’re doing it right. 💪

We’re cheering for every clinician finding their rhythm.

What advice would you share with your grad school self?

POV: You’ve been sitting in a kid-sized chair for 6 hours straight 🪑
Pediatric SLP life = core workout + flexibility training + creative seating solutions.

Anyone else feeling this in their lower back? 😂
