Rocking Horse Rehab offers Speech/Physical/Occupational and Mental Health therapies with our horses for children and adults with special needs.
Our services are open to public and to private/public schools for the disabled. Rocking Horse Rehab was established in September 2001 and was located at the Essex Equestrian Center in West Orange until our recent move to the beautiful Lord Stirling Stables in Basking Ridge, NJ which sits on 500+ acres of beautiful pastures and scenic trails. An indoor riding arena allows us to offer services year
round and we look forward to enjoying the outdoor arenas and trails in the spring, summer and fall. Call today for more information!

Did you see our announcement about Horse Powered Reading® and ask how does a horse help my child read?
RHR horses like Bart make reading fun again! Bart and his friends remove the anxiety barrier and create a safe, non-judgmental environment.
During Horse Powered Reading® students engage with obstacle courses, hula hoops, rubber ducks, and of course, our equine partners!

✨HIRING A PHYSICAL THERAPIST! ✨
We are looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team!
Do you have an interest in equine therapy? Are you looking for a friendly, rewarding work environment outside of a standard office?
At Rocking Horse our collaborative team uses equine movement to engage sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive systems. For example, the horse’s movement engages muscles used for walking.
Our sessions are staffed with a team of dedicated therapists/instructors, program assistants, and volunteers. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment for your child to work on therapeutic goals all while developing a bond with our equines!
