This is a comparative study of a baby's headshape at 8 weeks (red) and again at 14 weeks (blue).
Whoa!!
This change was with education and physical therapy twice weekly for 6 weeks. No helmet used or needed.

40% of babies have a flat spot by 3 months, it is so common these days. Mild plagiocephaly can be corrected without the need for a helmet if therapy is started early.

Bottom line is there is a critical early stage of development that allows for resolution without a helmet.

Head shapes will not correct themselves without some kind of intervention.

We can help. We offer evaluations to assess the severity of your baby's head shape and will work with you to correct it early. Don't wait, trust your intuition.

The baby plank is one of my favorite exercises for helping babies develop their neck, back, shoulders, and core muscles. All these muscles are vital to strengthen as your baby learns to move and become more independent.

The baby plank involves placing the baby on their tummy and encouraging them to lift their head and upper body off the ground while supporting themselves on their straight forearms.

By regularly engaging in this exercise, babies can improve their overall strength and reach important developmental milestones.

Yes!!!
Despite what others say, crawling is an important developmental milestone for babies.

It helps develop vital physical, cognitive, and social skills.

Crawling helps babies develop the muscles and coordination necessary for walking, as well as improve their balance and spatial awareness.

Crawling also allows babies to explore their environment, which promotes cognitive development by stimulating their curiosity and problem solving skills.

While not all babies crawl in the traditional sense, it is important to at least have them attempt. Some may skip crawling and move directly to walking. For these kids, I always say it’s never too late to stimulate the brain with crawling activities for toddlers. They will reap all the benefits!
If your baby needs help figuring out this milestone, please reach out to us! Link in bio or send us a DM.
