If you go to school out of state, you don’t have to switch therapists every time you come home for break, as long as your home + college states are ones we’re licensed in.

We love supporting college students during breaks, transitions, and that “living in two places at once” season of life.

Batavia comes together tonight. 🤍

We understand that recent events have deeply impacted our community and left many feeling uncertain or distrustful. Those feelings are real, and valid.

Local therapists are coming together this evening to offer a brief presentation and help reestablish a sense of safety and trust. We’ll be available to answer questions, listen, and offer steady, compassionate support to anyone attending.

This event is open to everyone, those directly affected and those wishing to support others.

Presentation materials and a list of resources will be available early this week on the Batavia Counselors Collaboration page.

Our hearts are heavy as our community processes the recent news surrounding Hanson Family Chiropractic in Batavia. The allegations have shaken the trust of many families and individuals who sought care and now find themselves navigating deep feelings of confusion, anger, and betrayal.

This Sunday evening, Annie Barsch, LMFT, owner of Mind Matters Private Practice in Elburn and a local Batavian, will lead a community presentation alongside other local therapists to help guide and support those affected.

The presentation, will focus on:
✨ Understanding and naming the wide range of emotions that may surface: shock, grief, violation, fear, and anger.
✨ Supporting parents with children who may have been impacted.
✨ Managing anxiety and the emotional weight of the legal process.
✨ Knowing where to turn for continued mental health and advocacy support.

Following Sunday’s event, the presentation and a list of trusted local therapists and community resources will be available on the Batavia Counselors Collaboration website.

For anyone affected by this situation, directly or indirectly, please know that you are not alone and support is available.

I’ll be attending Sunday’s event and am here, alongside my team, many other trauma-trained professionals,and members of the Batavia Counselors Collaboration to support our community through this. 🤍
