Let's talk about it - Session #1
π£ Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage π£
π£ Who Benefits?
Everyone!!
The lymphatic system is a circulatory system made up of lymph vessels. It drains extra fluid (called lymph) that has passed out of the blood and into tissues and returns it back to the blood. It's part of the immune system and keeps body fluid levels in balance and defends the body against infections by gathering and removing toxins scattered throughout the body.
Google describes the benefits of MLD like this:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) offers benefits like reducing swelling (lymphedema) and detoxifying by moving lymph fluid, aiding post-surgery recovery, boosting immunity, alleviating pain from conditions like fibromyalgia, promoting deep relaxation, and improving skin appearance by clearing toxins and puffiness. This gentle massage technique supports the body's natural waste removal, making it great for post-op healing, managing chronic inflammation, and general wellness...
And I love that description! I have had many clients come for lymph work. The following are some examples of different reasons clients have come for MLD that I've seen personally:
- Post surgical draining
- Lymphedema
- Lipedema
- Fluid retention, due to node removal
- Toxin Detox
- Sinus Issues
So, if you're wondering if you could benefit from a Lymphatic Drainage Massage, the answer is yes!
π£ Session Time Length?
It depends on how many areas of MLD focus but typically 30 minutes to an hour.
π£ What is the cost?
$25 -$60
Besides all it's many health benefits, MLD is also very relaxing! The light rhythmic movements often send clients quickly to sleep. Yall know what I say.."Snores are badges of honor for massage therapist!"
So whatever your reason for considering an MLD massage, I'd love to help! Let's get you scheduled!
