Arkansas Blood Institute will be holding a blood drive tomorrow, November 6 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Conference Room B.

Our patients are counting on us to keep the blood supply strong and healthy — and you are the heart of making that happen. Every unit collected is a story of hope, healing, and life — and together, we have the power to change the outcome for so many patients. All blood types are needed, and as always, all donors will be registered for a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card. Walk-ins are welcome.

**Please note** The “Stranger Things” themed T-Shirts are out of stock, but they will have an alternate design on hand for all donors.
See you all tomorrow at the drive!!

On Saturday, October 18th, guests gathered at the Batesville Community Center and Aquatics to celebrate Diwali. Also known as the Festival of Lights, this is a joyful holiday that honors triumph of light over darkness and is held as a time of celebration with family and friends. The event was hosted by Dr. Mahesh Anantha and his wife, Janani Baskaran, and organized by the Batesville chapter of the American Association of Physicians of Indian origin (AAPI). Over 176 guests attended the event, with many wearing traditional Indian attire. Guests were encouraged to wear festive outfits and, “shine bright,” in honor of the celebration.

“What a beautiful Diwali evening! We’re so grateful to have celebrated with our wonderful friends that are truly like family to us,” stated Dr. Anantha and Baskaran. “It was amazing to see everyone come together, laugh, and share such a joyful night. Thank you all for bringing your warmth and energy. You made this night special in every way.”

At this year’s celebration, Batesville Police Chief John Scarbrough and Fire Chief Mark McCollum were honored with a special donation to their organizations. The awards were given in recognition of each department’s dedication to the Batesville community.
