Recently, we’ve experienced several situations where vehicles have cut into or disrupted funeral processions. We understand that not everyone encounters a procession often — but in Pennsylvania, funeral processions do have the right-of-way.
When you see a hearse leading a line of vehicles with headlights and hazard lights on, please remember:
• Yield to the entire procession
• Do not cut into or break up the line
• Allow the procession to proceed through intersections
• Be patient and allow them to pass
A funeral procession is a family’s final journey with their loved one. A few moments of patience and awareness show tremendous respect.
