Bath Veterinary Clinic Intro Bath Veterinary Clinic 1735 N Cleveland-Massillon Rd in Bath, Ohio A small animal practice that has specialized in cats and dogs since the 1950?s. The Owner-operator is Dr. Margaret L Thorp, a graduate of Michigan State Veterinary School. She is also a member-owner of Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Copley on Cleveland Massillon Road. We understand and share your love for animals and strive to give you peace of mind while your pet is in our care. We believe in educating and involving you in the care of your pet, thus creating a loving, trusting bond while affording the greatest possibility for your pet's good health, happiness, and long life. Our dedicated veterinarians and clinic staff are the foundation of our team approach to lifetime compassionate care of your companions. Our doctors are committed to staying abreast of the latest clinical information available. Coupled with ready access to specialists, state-of-the-art surgical suites and 24 hour emergency care through our associate hospital, Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, we provide a unique, comprehensive approach to your pet?s health and well-being. (The same way your personal internist would arrange for any surgeries you need to be done at a hospital.) There is also a wide range of veterinary specialists at Metropolitan, for cases that require special expertise. Bath Veterinary Clinic offers boarding to their clients. We believe in socialized play for our boarders and most of them enjoy days of playing and running in our large outdoor play areas. We also offer day boarding (Doggy DayCare). This is very popular for clients with younger pets ? who don?t want to come home to the wild antics of well-rested very active pets. We help tucker them out by providing fresh air and exercise. We also help them learn to play well with others. We also provide grooming. We have an experienced, certified groomer who is on the premises two days a week to provide for our clients? grooming needs. Wellness Care / Vaccines / Parasite Prevention A wellness examination includes an evaluation of all of your pet?s major organ systems. We also use the wellness visit to ask you questions about your pet?s behavior, appetite, exercise habits, and regular activities at home. This is an excellent time to discuss any routine diagnostic testing that may benefit your pet and to administer any vaccines that may be due. A wellness exam is a good opportunity to note any changes, such as weight gain or loss and subtle changes that may not be evident at home. Sometimes information obtained during a wellness examination can detect early signs of illness and address health issues before they progress. Pets today can live longer, healthier lives than ever before?in part because of vaccines that help protect them from deadly infectious diseases. Vaccines against dangerous diseases have saved millions of pets and virtually eliminated some fatal diseases that were once common. Unfortunately, some infectious diseases still pose a significant threat to dogs and cats that are unvaccinated. Although vaccine programs have been highly successful and vaccines are considered routine today, we (as caregivers) and you (as pet parents) cannot afford to become complacent about keeping pets up-to-date on their vaccinations. At the same time, not every pet needs every available vaccine. Some vaccines are considered core vaccines and should be administered to all pets. Other vaccines are recommended for pets based on their risk of exposure to disease. Vaccine recommendations may change throughout a pet?s life, as travel habits and other variables change. We understand that your pet is unique. Our goal is to give you the best advice for keeping your pet healthy. Let us develop a vaccination schedule and ongoing booster routine that accounts for your pet?s lifestyle
