The Sunny Mike Foundation has brightened the season for many Veterans at Finger Lakes VA with a holiday donation of nearly $5,000 in men's and women's T-shirts, socks, and undergarments.

The foundation works closely with VA Finger Lakes through Roc Veterans, a Rochester-centered collaboration of organizations providing a variety of needed services to Veterans and their families.

The recent Sunny Mike donation also gave Student Volunteers at VA's Center for Development & Civic Engagement an opportunity to learn about our VA's Community Partners and donation process and the meaningful needs they fulfill.

With 20 new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs health care clinics opened since January, we’re expanding access to ensure Veterans get the health care choices they’ve earned. And when eligible Vets can’t come to us, we’ll pay for them to see a non-VA provider.

Many thanks to members of Horsehead Elks Lodge #2297, who have generously donated $7,255 to the Bath VA Medical Center.

The funds, earmarked for VA's Homeless Program, were raised at the lodge's annual Summer Seafood Boil.

The holiday season means an increase in online shopping and purchases. Cyber Monday and year end gift giving often bring about opportunities for scammers to use distractions to target Veterans and their loved ones.

Bad actors often create fake retail websites, pop-up online stores, or pose as sellers offering discounted merchandise. Victims may make purchases and will either receive counterfeit and low-quality items, or the products will never arrive. Scammers may also steal credit card information that was entered for the purchase.

Happy Thanksgiving

On this day of thanks, our Veterans are truly blessed with a $10,000 donation from the aptly named Honor Veterans, Inc.

The generous check was accompanied by $1,000 worth of Wegmans gift cards to be distributed among patients in hospice care. The funds will also benefit mental health, su***de prevention, and palliative care programs at VA Finger Lakes.

Honor Veterans, Inc. has long supported VA programs with a variety of fundraising activities ranging from golf tournaments to BBQ fests.

With your sponsorship of Wreaths Across America, a Veteran’s wreath will be placed to honor one of nearly 16,000 American heroes buried at Bath National Cemetery, on Dec. 13, National Wreaths Across America Day.
At the cemetery, each wreath is placed by a volunteer, who will “say their name” to ensure that the legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice is never forgotten.
A sponsorship supports the organization's ongoing mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach future generation the value of freedom.

Participants in our Golden Age Games team, show off their artistic creations, thanks to the Disabled American Veterans in Rochester.

The Golden Age Games promote the value of sports medicine in improving the quality of life for all older vets.

Thanks to the DAV for donating space for this project, to our Recreation Therapy team, and to the prospect of even more collaborative efforts in the new year.
