Dry needling is one of the tools we use in physical therapy to help relieve muscle pain and improve movement. It involves placing a very thin, sterile needle into tight or irritated muscles (often called trigger points) to help them relax and reset. There’s no medication injected... the goal is to reduce tension, improve blood flow, and calm down overactive pain signals.
You might feel a quick twitch or mild soreness afterward (similar to how you feel after a workout), but many patients notice improved mobility and decreased pain shortly after.
At KPT, dry needling isn’t a stand-alone fix; it’s part of a full recovery plan that includes hands-on treatment, strengthening, and movement retraining to help you feel better and stay better.
