TOMORROW'S THE DAY! IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER!

Ever wondered how hearing tests work and what they can tell us?

Join Leigh Anne Norman, Audiologist, and Cheryl Glass, GOLD Teacher, as they break down the process...from why early hearing testing matters to what different types of tests reveal about a child’s hearing and communication access.

Understanding the “how” and “why” behind hearing tests helps families and educators better support every child’s language development.

📚✨ Did you know?
American Sign Language (ASL) is the 3rd most studied language in the United States! 🧏‍♀️🧏‍♂️

ASL isn’t just a class subject; it’s the native language of the Deaf community. And the best teachers of ASL are often Deaf individuals! By sharing their language, Deaf individuals empower others to communicate, connect, and appreciate the richness of Deaf culture. 💙💛

Here at L*D, we’re proud to offer community ASL classes as well as online classes for families of our students because learning ASL builds stronger families and stronger communities. 🤟❤️

Want to learn more? Type ASL in the comments and we’ll send you the details!

💡✨ Deaf Awareness Month Tip!
When talking about someone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing, use those exact terms: “Deaf” or “Hard of Hearing.”

❌ Not okay: “hearing impaired”
✅ Better: “Deaf” or “Hard of Hearing”

Words matter and using the right ones shows respect for identity and culture. 💙💛

Let’s celebrate Deaf Awareness Month by spreading awareness and kindness! 🌟

🤟✨ Did you know? In Deaf culture, many people have a sign name!

A sign name is a special way to identify a person in American Sign Language (ASL). Instead of fingerspelling someone’s name every time, the Deaf community often gives a unique sign name that reflects a person’s personality, physical feature, or something meaningful about them. 💙

Sign names are an important part of Deaf culture, they’re given by members of the Deaf community and are a badge of belonging. 🌟

So we want to know… What’s YOUR sign name? Share it below and tell us the story behind it! 👇
