On April 2nd, we had a spice-tacular time at Mayfair Lab’s Flavor Fest! 🌶️✨

Our EBR CNP station was full of smiles, learning, and lots of flavor! Students jumped into hands-on fun with food safety, getting to practice using and calibrating thermometers like pros 🌡️—and of course, they couldn’t get enough of our homemade salsa during the taste test! 💃🍅

The sweetest feedback? Students said they loved it so much, they just wished they had more time to do it all. We’ll call that a big win! 😄

💙 Thank You, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana! 💙

Yesterday, several members of our EBR Child Nutrition Program team had the opportunity to tour the beautiful new Inspiration Center by Howell Park, and we were truly inspired!

A special thank you to Ms. Micka and Mr. Bobby for taking the time to welcome us and allowing our staff to visit and learn more about this incredible space. The facility is absolutely beautiful and serves as an amazing, safe, and uplifting place for children in our community to learn, grow, and thrive. 🌟

We are grateful for partners like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana who continue to invest in the youth of our community. We look forward to working together to support and serve the children and families of East Baton Rouge Parish! 💛

Congratulations Ms. Hayes!

Thank you for everything you do!

Kathy Hayes is the food service manager at LaSalle Elementary! With 13 years at LaSalle and 30 years of service overall, all with EBR, she believes it is important to ensure students are fed and have a consistent source of nutrition each day. She loves being able to serve the children, who are the reason she shows up every day, and she truly enjoys working alongside her colleagues.
