Winnfield Funeral Homes Launch
“Feed the Children” Program to Support Families Affected by SNAP Benefit Cuts
BATON ROUGE, LA — Winnfield Funeral Homes has announced the launch of a new community outreach initiative, Feed the Children, to help local families struggling with recent cuts in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.
The program invites residents in Baton Rouge, Alexandria, and Shreveport to join Winnfield Funeral Homes in supporting neighbors in need by donating non-perishable food items. Donations will be accepted at all three Winnfield Funeral Homes locations during regular business hours.
“Our funeral homes have always been part of the communities we serve,” said Marcus Lewis, Vice-President of Winnfield Funeral Homes. “When we saw the impact that reduced food assistance was having on local families, we knew we needed to act. Feed The Children is about more than collecting food; it’s about coming together to ensure no child in our community goes hungry.”
All donations will be distributed at the following Winnfield locations to ensure they reach local families most affected by the recent reduction in benefits:
• Shreveport : Friday November 21st | 2-5 PM
• Baton Rouge : Sunday November 23 | 2-5 PM
• Alexandria: Monday, November 24 | 2-5 PM
Recipients must present proof of SNAP eligibility at the time of distribution.
