Motherhood will humble you real quick⌠but doing it without support? That hits different.
My pregnancy was smooth. I had support. I felt prepared.
Postpartum? Whew⌠that was a different story.
And one thing I had to learn quickly having support doesnât mean there are no struggles. Support actually helps you move through it. It gives you space to breathe, to process, to not feel like youâre carrying everything alone.
Black Maternal Health Week reminds us why community matters so much.
Black maternal health matters every story, every experience, every life. This week (and always), we bring awareness to the disparities, but also the strength, advocacy, and care our communities deserve.
Black women are 3â4x more likely to experience pregnancy-related complications and thatâs not okay. Awareness is step one. Action is next.
Supporting Black mothers means listening, believing, and advocating for better care, better outcomes, and safer spaces.
So hereâs your reminder:
Check on a Black mom.
Support a Black mom.
Be part of the village. đ
