We’re Hiring – Confined Space Rescue Technicians

Roco Rescue is hiring Confined Space Rescue Technicians. We are looking for firefighters, EMTs, military personnel, and other emergency responders interested in rope and confined space rescue.

Prior emergency response experience is required. Selected applicants will attend our hiring course this April at the Roco Training Center (RTC) in Baton Rouge and complete Roco Rescue’s Confined Space Rescue Technician course before beginning field assignments. If you have a background in emergency response and want to apply those skills in rope and confined space rescue, we’d like to hear from you.

Well apparently, shenanigans really can lead to smooth patient movement. If you can move a live patient and an egg up, over and then under a scaffold prop without touching the ground, rattling the patient or breaking the egg, then you can definitely treat a real rescue with the thoughtfulness a stressed patient deserves. Train hard and think outside the box.

Rescue Essentials is a hands-on class focused on the fundamental skills every new rescuer needs. There is some classroom time to set the stage, but most of the course is spent in a harness, on the prop, building systems, using the gear, and solving problems as a team.

A new calendar year means testing gear. The current 11mm ropes in the Roco Training Center cache include Sterling HTP and Work Pro, PMI Unicore, Petzl Axis, CMC G11 and Courant Rebel. This year's new contenders are: (left to right) Petzl Beam, Marlow Diablo and Marlow Protec 500. One rope really made a good impression this week. Any guesses?
