Southern University Tennis Team was in the studio recently for their first athletic yoga wellness session. In our practice, breathwork sits at the center of everything we do on the mat. It supports how we move, how we stabilize, and how we reset the body after effort.

For athletes, intentional breathing supports:

• Nervous system regulation
• Better oxygen delivery to muscles
• Endurance and stamina
• Mental focus and clarity
• Recovery after training
• Reduced physical tension
• Stronger mind-body awareness

Restore 365 at Move Your Body Yoga is our gentle, non-heated class designed to help you slow down and reconnect with your body in a supportive way. While most of our studio practices are infrared heated, this session was created because many people asked the same question:

“How do I get started before stepping into the heat?”

This class is the answer.

Through slow movement, deep stretches, breathwork, and mindful rest, Restore 365 helps release tension, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system. It’s approachable, grounding, and welcoming for every level.

Whether you’re brand new to yoga, returning after time away, or simply looking for a softer practice, this class gives your body exactly what it needs.

There’s something powerful about watching athletes slow down long enough to take care of themselves.

The ladies of Southern University Softball spent time with us in the studio—working, breathing, stretching, and building their yoga wellness together. These young women train hard, compete hard, and carry a lot on their shoulders. Moments like this matter.

Yoga gives athletes something their sport doesn’t always allow:
a chance to regulate the nervous system, reset the mind, and restore the body.

When they move through breath and posture, the body shifts out of constant “go mode” and into recovery. The heart rate settles. The mind clears. Muscles release tension. That balance is where strength actually grows.

These ladies deserve that kind of wellness.
Not just to perform better on the field—but to feel better in their bodies and minds.

We’re honored to hold space for them at Move Your Body Yoga.

Strong athletes. Centered minds. Regulated nervous systems. They are a team that understands the value of taking care of themselves. 💛

Yesterday the Southern University Jaguars Men’s Basketball Team spent time in the studio doing exactly what athletes need before a big moment — recovery, gentle movement, breathwork, and rest.

Championship preparation isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like slowing down, grounding the body, and quieting the mind.

As the Jags head to Atlanta for the SWAC Championship, we’re wishing them safe travels, strong camaraderie, and the confidence to play the game they love.

We love that these young men choose to move with us, breathe with us, and reset with us.

Now we’re waiting on that trophy and the championship glow.

Are you ready to dive in?

This morning we dove right into our practice, setting the tone for the week ahead.

As we begin this month’s teaching, we’re focusing on the Yamas, the first limb of yoga. The Yamas guide how we treat others and how we move through the world with awareness, respect, and compassion.

This week our focus is Ahimsa, which means to do no harm. On the mat, Ahimsa reminds us to move with strength while still honoring our bodies and practicing with care. Off the mat, it encourages kindness, patience, and compassion toward ourselves and those around us.

Today we dove right in — moving with intention and beginning our work together rooted in strength, awareness, and compassion.

It was a beautiful conversation yesterday on the Carlos Brown Show.

Thank you, Carlos, for the opportunity to talk about the work we’re doing at Move Your Body Yoga and why wellness matters so much for our community.

We had a meaningful discussion about the power of yoga, movement, and breath—and how these practices support recovery, focus, and overall well-being for student athletes, including the incredible athletes of Southern University.

I’m grateful for the chance to share how movement, mindfulness, and daily wellness can help athletes perform, recover, and stay grounded both on and off the field.
