DO NOT PANIC if you have thick-heeled shoes just run with less focus on heel strike and more of forefoot strike. ~Food for Thought~

In an amazing 2010 study, it is clearly shown that even on hard surfaces, barefoot runners produce smaller collision forces than runners who strike with their heels even with thick-soled shoes.
Clinical Relevance: The current theory is that thick-heeled shoes are causing lower limb impact injuries in runners.

It has been said that thick soled and heeled running shoes were made to reduce the impact caused by the foot (heel) colliding with the ground. It is shown that barefoot endurance runners (i.e. in Africa) either land on the forefoot or land with a flat foot (but not on the heel!) On the other hand, typical runners who wear shoes (i.e. Western world), impact the ground with their heel.

5 Tips for Ache Free Gardening:
-Warm up: take brief walk and/or stretch before starting
-Change it up: never stay in the same position for more than 10 minutes
-Bend at the knees: contract the abdominal muscles to avoid back strain
-Don't kneel: at least not on both knees, helps back stability
-Cool down: take short walk, light stretch, and warm shower/bath to prevent soreness
