A few weeks later, and I’m still thinking about (the Food Allergy Symposium for Industry) at Boston University.
Hosted by MenuTrinfo, it’s one of the few spaces where the people responsible for student safety in dining come together to learn, challenge each other, and actually improve practice.
Huge thank you to Betsy Craig and her team for creating something that drives real change, not just conversation.
This is exactly how The Celiac College Guide funds get put to work.
Yes, we’re building a trusted, free directory to help students and families make informed college decisions.
And we’re also getting into rooms like this to support and influence what’s actually happening on the ground.
At FASI, I had the opportunity to contribute in two meaningful ways:
• Led a full-day preconference, the Certified AllerTrainer Advanced Professional (CAAP) Opportunity, with Victor Konters from Sodexo, working with dietitians and dining leaders on how to facilitate adult learning in ways that go beyond “passing a test” and actually change behavior in real dining spaces
• Co-led a roundtable with Ashley Leone from Syracuse University, engaging campus dining leaders in a conversation about what great gluten-free support really looks like in practice
One of the highlights was getting to meet several of our incredible Celiac College Guide board members in person for the first time. Seeing them out there leading, influencing, and pushing this work forward across campuses was pretty special. Proud to be on a team with Betsy, Ashley, Joshua Miller and Kelli Wood - Regional Director from Aramark, MS, RD, LDN
FASI is what it looks like when the right people are in the room, committed to doing better for students.
Grateful to have been invited to be part of it.
