Does your lower back ache more on one side? This might be why.

The Quadratus Lumborum (QL) is a deep muscle in the lower back that helps support your body during sitting, standing, walking, and even breathing. Because it works constantly, it easily becomes overworked — especially with long hours of sitting, uneven posture, stress, or favoring one side of the body.

When the QL holds tension, you may notice:
• One-sided lower back pain
• Tightness around the hips or waist
• Discomfort when standing up or lying on one side
• A feeling of compression or pulling in the low back

Massage therapy helps by:
• Releasing deep-held tension in the QL
• Improving circulation to fatigued tissue
• Reducing protective holding patterns
• Supporting overall comfort and ease in the lower back

💆‍♀️ Lower back pain isn’t always about doing too much — sometimes it’s about a muscle doing everything.

Still rubbing your neck but it keeps coming back? Here’s why.

Neck tension often starts below the neck. When the muscles of the mid-upper back and rib area become tight from posture, stress, or repetitive use, the neck muscles step in to help support and stabilize. Over time, this extra workload can lead to chronic tightness, stiffness, headaches, and shoulder discomfort.

Massage therapy helps by:
• Softening overworked mid-upper back muscles
• Improving circulation and tissue quality
• Reducing the strain placed on the neck
• Allowing the neck muscles to finally relax

💆‍♀️ Treating the neck alone isn’t always enough. Working with connected muscle groups helps create relief that feels deeper and lasts longer.

✨ Massage works with the body as a whole — not just the area that hurts

Overthinking is a tired nervous system trying to stay in control.

When the mind won’t slow down, the body is usually holding tension.
Tight shoulders. Shallow breathing. A jaw that won’t unclench.

Massage helps shift you out of your head and back into your body.
Out of survival mode.
Into stillness.

✨ You don’t need to figure everything out today.
You just need to feel safe enough to rest. ✨

Your body is always talking.
Most of us don’t slow down enough to listen.

That tight neck, the heavy shoulders, the low-back ache that shows up at the end of the day—
those aren’t random.

They’re your body asking for attention, rest, and care.

Massage isn’t a luxury.
It’s how you interrupt the stress cycle, soften the nervous system, and remind your body it’s safe to let go.

✨ You don’t have to wait until you’re in pain to take care of yourself. ✨

Ever wake up with a sudden “crook” in your neck?
It rarely comes out of nowhere.

A stiff or sharp neck usually happens when muscles have been overworking quietly for days or weeks. Poor sleep position, stress, shallow breathing, phone posture, or guarding tension in the shoulders all cause certain neck muscles to stay “on” too long.

Eventually, the muscle tightens or spasms to protect itself—that’s the crook you feel.

Massage helps by:
• Releasing overactive neck and shoulder muscles
• Improving blood flow and tissue hydration
• Calming the nervous system so muscles can let go
• Restoring natural movement instead of forcing a stretch

💡 Tip: Stretching too hard when it first happens can make it worse. Gentle heat, slow breathing, and skilled bodywork allow the neck to reset safely.

Pelvic floor issues don’t always stay in the pelvis.

Many people don’t realize that pelvic floor tension can refer pain into the hamstrings, hips, and the sacral area (the low back just above the tailbone). The body works as one connected system, and tight tissue in one area often pulls on another.

For women who have had a C-section, this connection matters even more.

A C-section doesn’t only affect the skin. It creates scar tissue in the lower abdomen. As that scar heals, the tissue underneath can form adhesions—areas where the fascia becomes stuck and less mobile.

When these adhesions form around the C-section incision, they can:
• Limit movement in the lower abdomen and pelvic floor
• Pull on surrounding muscles and fascia
• Disrupt core and pelvic stability

If left untreated, this tension can travel:
• From the pelvic floor
• Into the sacrum, hips, and hamstrings
• Up through the abdomen and stomach area
• Into the chest
• And even to the front of the neck and upper chest

This may show up as:
• Pain or tightness around the sacral area
• Hamstring tension that won’t release
• Pelvic discomfort or weakness
• A tight or restricted feeling in the lower stomach
• Neck or chest tightness
• Shallow breathing

Massage therapy helps by gently working with scar tissue and fascia, improving tissue glide, restoring circulation, and helping the body reconnect and move freely again.

✨ Scar tissue tells a story — it doesn’t have to hold your body hostage. ✨

Swollen glands and pain in the front bottom teeth?
It may not be your teeth. It could be a muscle.

If you feel:
• Swollen or tender glands under the jaw
• Pain or pressure in the front two bottom teeth
• Tightness under the chin
• Discomfort when swallowing, talking, or turning your head

The source may be the digastric muscle.

What is the digastric muscle?

The digastric is a small muscle located under the jaw, connecting the chin to the hyoid bone. It helps with:
• Swallowing
• Speaking
• Jaw movement
• Stabilizing the throat and neck

Why it causes tooth or gland pain

When the digastric muscle becomes tight or irritated, it can:
• Mimic swollen glands
• Create referred pain into the lower front teeth
• Cause aching or pressure that feels dental, even when teeth are healthy

This muscle often tightens from:
• Jaw clenching or grinding
• Stress and anxiety
• Forward head posture
• Shallow breathing
• Holding emotions or tension in the throat area

How massage helps

Targeted massage releases the digastric muscle, reduces tension under the jaw, improves circulation, and helps calm the nervous system — allowing pain patterns to settle.

✨ Not all pain starts where you feel it. ✨

Most people don’t breathe the right way — and their neck and shoulders feel it.

When we don’t breathe the right way, our breath stays high in our chest instead of filling our belly and ribs. This makes the neck and shoulder muscles work too hard, even though they’re not meant to help us breathe.

After a while, this can cause:
• Tight neck and shoulders
• Headaches
• Feeling stressed or anxious
• Pain that shows up later

The way you breathe affects how your body feels.

When you’re on my table, I can often feel these tight patterns before you feel pain. With gentle touch and slow breathing, your body learns how to relax and breathe the right way again.

Massage isn’t just about making muscles feel good —
it helps your body calm down and let go.

✨ When you breathe better, your body feels better. ✨
