🥧 Pick Your Pie Day at Ascent! 🥧

Our team dressed up as their favorite pie flavor — from pumpkin to pecan, and everything in between! Each month, we celebrate two themed days to bring a little extra fun and connection to our clinic.

Of course, no “Pick Your Pie Day” would be complete without the real thing — our staff enjoyed personal mini pies to match their deliciously creative outfits! 🧡

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Ive, M.S., BCBA, LBA! 🌟

Before becoming a BCBA, Ive spent about three years as an RBT while completing her degree. She also earned her BCaBA as a stepping stone toward her ultimate goal — and we’re so glad that path led her here to Ascent! 💙

Ive loves working in ABA because she enjoys watching the learners make progress, even when the journey isn’t always linear. She shares, “The really good days make up for the challenging ones — seeing kids express themselves in meaningful, functional ways just makes my heart happy.” 🫶

We’re so thankful to have Ive on our team! She says, “I love it here at Ascent and couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else!” 💫

🎃👻 Halloween is almost here—and while costumes and candy bring excitement, trick-or-treating can sometimes feel overwhelming for children with special needs. At Ascent, we love celebrating the fun while also keeping comfort and inclusion in mind! 💙

Here are a few tips to make your Halloween extra sweet:
🍬 Try a practice run before the big night
🧡 Choose a costume that’s comfy and sensory-friendly
👻 Bring along familiar items (like headphones or a favorite toy) for support
✨ Remember—it’s okay if your child participates in their own unique way!

Many communities also offer inclusive fall festivals, trunk-or-treats, and sensory-friendly Halloween events 🏠🎃—great opportunities to enjoy the spirit of the holiday without the pressure of traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating.

No matter how you celebrate, the goal is simple: fun, not stress. Wishing all of our families a safe, magical, and inclusive Halloween! 🦇🍭

💡 Did You Know? - ABA Education Series

ABA therapy uses positive reinforcement to help children learn and grow! When a child completes a task or uses their words, we celebrate with something meaningful — praise, a favorite toy, or even a happy dance! 🎉

When kids see that positive actions lead to positive outcomes, they’re motivated to keep learning. 💕

💙 At Ascent, we believe caregivers are the heart of a child’s progress in ABA therapy.

That’s why Family Guidance sessions are built into every child’s care plan. Every other week, families meet with their child’s BCBA to:
✨ Learn strategies to use at home
✨ Align therapy goals with family values
✨ Share their voice in decision-making
✨ Feel empowered to support their child’s growth

Because when caregivers and therapists work together, children can soar even higher. 💫

🍂✨ Fall is in the air, and that means it’s the perfect season for cozy crafts and outdoor fun! 🍁🎨
At Ascent, we love encouraging creativity and exploration—and fall offers so many chances for both. Here are a few simple, sensory-friendly activities you can try with your little ones this season:

🍎 Paper Plate Masks – Create playful characters with everyday supplies.
🍂 Nature Collage – Take a walk, collect leaves and twigs, then bring the outdoors inside for art time.
🎃 Fall Sensory Bin – Explore textures with rice, beans, and fall treasures like acorns.

These activities are not only fun, but also a great way to build skills, spark imagination, and make special autumn memories together. 💛

✨ Want more ideas? You can find step-by-step instructions and specific activities in our October Newsletter! ✨

What’s your family’s favorite fall activity? Share below—we’d love to hear! 👇

🌟 Staff Spotlight 🌟

Meet Erianna, one of our amazing RBTs here at Ascent! With experience as a trainer and team lead in ABA, she brings knowledge, passion, and heart to her work every day. She is currently working toward her Master’s Degree to become a BCBA, all while continuing to make a difference in the lives of the children she serves. Erianna says what she loves most about ABA therapy is helping amplify kids’ voices, teaching meaningful skills, and getting to know each child’s unique personality as they grow. When asked about her career choice, she replies: “I don’t 'deal' with them. I accept and see them. If anything, they deal with me. They allow me into their world.” 💙
