Since opening our doors, The Bridge Center has helped more than 14,000 individuals in moments of urgent need—providing care rooted in dignity, access, and hope.

Every number represents a person who found stabilization, support, and a path forward. Crisis care reduces unnecessary emergency room visits, strengthens families, and ensures individuals receive immediate, professional care—without barriers.

Transparency and accountability matter to us. That’s why we make our data available to the community.

To the East Baton Rouge Parish community,

On behalf of all of us at the Bridge Center for Hope, thank you.

For the past five years, you have believed in our mission and trusted us to serve our community during some of life’s most difficult moments. It is truly an honor to be chosen, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.

Because of your support, the Bridge Center for Hope has helped more than 14,000 individuals take their first steps on the road to recovery. Every person served represents a life, a family, and a future.

Our hope is simple: to continue providing excellent crisis care with dignity, compassion, and respect for every person who comes through our doors.

We are proud of what we’ve built together—and even more excited about what lies ahead.

Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for believing in us. And thank you for allowing us to serve.

With gratitude, Charlotte Claiborne, MBA, Executive Director, Bridge Center for Hope

The Bridge Center for Hope has helped over 14K start their road to recovery. Thank you for believing in us.

Strength, resilience, and self-reliance are often celebrated in Black men—but these same qualities can make it harder to ask for help when it’s needed.

Cultural stigma, systemic barriers, and limited access to culturally responsive care too often stand in the way of support.

This article explores how redefining strength, normalizing conversation, and expanding access can help ensure Black men receive the mental health care they deserve.

Stabilization Is Just the Beginning—Planning for What Comes Next

What Happens:
Most stays range from three to seven days and emphasize stabilization, brief therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning. Care Management staff coordinate follow-up services, referrals, and next steps prior to discharge to support continuity of care.

Why It Matters:
Thoughtful transition planning reduces repeat visits, strengthens outpatient engagement, and supports smoother handoffs back to community-based care.

Care Is Led by People Who Bring Skill, Compassion, and Lived Experience

What Happens:
Clients are supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, licensed mental health professionals, and peer support specialists. Care planning is collaborative and individualized, addressing immediate clinical needs while considering social, behavioral, and recovery-oriented factors.

Why It Matters:
This team-based model supports whole-person stabilization and ensures continuity between crisis intervention and longer-term treatment pathways.

When Someone Arrives in Crisis, They’re Met with Calm and Care

What Happens:
Individuals arrive via walk-in, family support, or by first responders. Intake begins immediately, with a focus on safety, rapid assessment, and stabilization in a calm, therapeutic setting. There are no appointment requirements, insurance barriers, or referral prerequisites.

Why It Matters:
Clear, predictable intake processes reduce delays in care and support appropriate diversion from emergency departments and inpatient settings.
