Did you know that parental drug addiction is the second-most-common form of recurring trauma for children, after neglect? Thankfully there is help and hope for these precious little ones and their parents too!

I'm Helen, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Baton Rouge, LA. I work primarily with women and children looking to heal from past experiences or to address current struggles. My approach to therapy is person-centered, meaning that I will tailor the use of interventions and techniques to your specific needs. You are unique - so your therapy experience should be too!

My specialties include trauma, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. I also have experience in treating spouses and children affected by addiction. I am trained in EMDR therapy for treatment of PTSD and in hypnosis for clients seeking behavioral change.

Wherever you are in your personal journey, I am ready to meet you there! I view counseling as a collaborative and empowering process in which we work together to achieve your goals. As a Christian, I often incorporate spiritual discussion into my work, however, I am a compassionate listener and respectful of whatever your personal beliefs may be.
