Congratulations to our Spotlight Resident, Jackie! She was born in Battle Creek and grew up in Level Park. She was the oldest of three children and graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1949. She worked part time at Michigan National Bank while she was in High School. and continued working there after graduation and most of her life. She also worked at Stuck and Caldwell Construction.
Jackie met John at a dance hall on the lake when she went with friends. They were married for 20 years and were blessed with three children. She was married to Vern for 28 years and they had one daughter. Later, she married Charlie. Jackie has seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Jackie had many hobbies including reading, puzzles, dancing, painting, and traveling. She was fortunate to have traveled to Denmark and parts of Europe. She combined her love of dance and travel and took dancing cruises!
Jackie was a member of Central Christian Church, and she was a dedicated volunteer where she did many things, including serving lunches.
Jackie has a generous heart, and her daughter tells the story of one Christmas where a bank customer mentioned that she didn’t have any money for Christmas and she had children. Jackie talked to her husband and shared the true Christmas spirit by getting the family a tree, food, and gifts at a time when money was tight for them. Now, Jackie truly enjoys her friends at Lakeview, music, and Bingo.

We’ve been busy! Andy and Reid grilled (in the snow!) for our guys, Paul and Whitney sang for us, we had seated tap, Battle Creek Trivia with Carlyle and Music with Mary Kay samples. We just have the most fun!

We also enjoyed a great virtual visit to Singapore thanks to Andy Sims and a great game of Bunco led by Rosa!
