I’m honored to introduce Sgt. Sean Brown, a valued member of Summit Pointe’s Board of Directors who brings an essential frontline perspective to our work.
Through his role in crisis response and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, Sgt. Brown regularly encounters individuals experiencing mental health emergencies in the community. His experience responding in real time—and helping train others to do the same—offers invaluable insight into how mental health providers and first responders can work together to support people in moments of greatest need.

In this podcast interview he shares how these experiences inform his approach to crisis response and why partnership across systems matters so deeply. I hope you’ll take a moment to listen and hear his perspective.

We were so happy to support Battle Creek Central School’s Stuff the Bus initiative, helping pack bags with essential items for students to have what they need over the holiday break.

It’s a privilege to partner with our local schools and community to help support students and families during this time. 💙

I’m so proud to share this Common Ground article featuring one of our incredible Summit Pointe Recovery Coaches, Ashley Gibson. Her story — from former client to supporting individuals in the jail through their own recovery journeys — is a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and what’s possible when we believe in people. 💙

Ashley, thank you for the heart you bring to this work and the impact you make every day.

Thanksgiving reminds me how fortunate I am to work alongside people who lead with compassion every single day.

To the entire Summit Pointe team: thank you for the heart you bring to this work. Our community is stronger, safer, and more hopeful because of you. Your dedication—often quiet, often unseen—creates real change for the people who need us most.

And a special note of gratitude for our First Step staff. While many are gathered around their own tables today, you’re showing up for our neighbors in crisis, 24/7, 365 days a year. Your service is the truest example of what it means to put people first.

I am deeply thankful for each of you.
Wishing everyone a safe and restorative holiday.

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, and I’m so proud of our Veteran Navigator, Michele, for representing Summit Pointe on a panel hosted by Veterans Helping Veterans SWMI.

Michele shared her powerful perspective on achieving goals and dreams after military service — and as a woman veteran who is deeply involved and takes charge in supporting our veteran community, she continues to make a real difference. 💙

On Veterans Day the nation pauses to reflect on the service of our veterans, but honoring those who served is more than a holiday or a moment of silence. Understanding the experiences of our veterans, their needs, and the resources they are entitled to is a commitment we must never take for granted.

If you or someone you know have served in the military and would like support, we're here to help.
