Ronald Stephen Reagin, Jr.

Ronald Stephen Reagin, Jr., a decorated Marine, dedicated law enforcement officer, and proud American, entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2025, at the age of 56. Known to many as Stephen, he lived a life defined by service, strength, and steadfast devotion to God, family, and country.

Born in Jeff Davis County on September 12, 1969, Stephen answered the call to serve his nation as a member of the United States Marine Corps, where he honorably served during operations in Southwest Asia, the Persian Gulf War, and later in Iraq and Afghanistan. His courage and leadership earned him numerous commendations, including recognition for valor in combat.

Following his military service, Stephen continued his lifelong mission of protecting others through a distinguished career in law enforcement. As a Corporal with the Savannah Police Department and later a United States Marshal, he served in several elite roles—SWAT Sniper Team Leader, Entry Team Leader, and Narcotics Officer—earning the Medal of Valor and the title of SWAT Operator of the Year. His expertise also took him abroad, where he trained Iraqi and Afghan security forces in counterterrorism operations.

Beyond his professional achievements, Stephen was a man of integrity and heart. He was a certified scuba diver and underwater welder, and he found peace on the water, joy on the open road, and pride in cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs alongside his father—a simple tradition that meant the world to both of them.

Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ginger Bennett Reagin, and his son, Garrett Nathaniel Reagin.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Ronald and Nancy Reagin of Baxley; his sister, Hilari Reagin of Athens; his brother, Joshua Reagin of Baxley; his nieces Aaryn Griffis, Eliana Reagin, Charlize Reagin, Adah Hamman; and nephews Stephen Mark Reagin and Henry Hamman.
