We’re raising kids in bubble wrap and wondering why they shatter at the slightest bump.
We take away every struggle, then ask why they have no strength.
We shield them from consequences, then act surprised when they don’t understand accountability.
We remove discomfort, and with it, we accidentally remove resilience.
The truth is simple—character isn’t built in comfort.
It’s built in the moments when things don’t go your way, when you’re told “no,” when you have to try again instead of being handed the answer.
Our generation learned grit because life didn’t bend around our feelings.
We didn’t get trophies for losing, and we didn’t get praised for showing up late.
We learned through correction, course changes, and yes—consequences.
That’s not cruelty.
That’s preparation.
Strong adults aren’t born.
They’re forged.
And if we want to give our kids confidence, courage, and backbone… we have to stop being afraid of letting them feel what it takes to build it.
