Over the years, she has developed a uniquely personalized approach to health care. Combining the best of traditional and contemporary approaches, Dr. Zimmerman practices state-of the-art medicine with the touch of a small-town family doctor -- one patient at a time. She believes that patients deserve more than the standard 10-minute appointment. She is also responsive to the growing acceptance of non-traditional medicine and she employs natural remedies and chiropractic/ acupuncture referrals where appropriate. Gail Zimmerman, MD, provides comprehensive health and wellness care to men, women, and adolescents at her private practice in Bay Head, New Jersey. As a board-certified internist, Dr. Zimmerman focuses on the prevention and treatment of all types of diseases. Dr. Zimmerman graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Albany State University in New York and her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University, also in New York. She went on to complete her medical degree from Columbia University and nearly half of her years in medical school were solely focused on averting, diagnosing, and treating complex health problems. She completed her internal medicine residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Zimmerman is a member of the American College of Physicians, the New Jersey Chapter of ACP, and the North American Menopause Society.

Dr. Zimmerman incorporates years of experience with the personal touch of a hometown doctor to ensure her patients receive quality individualized care. She doesn’t rush through appointments. Instead, Dr. Zimmerman takes the time to listen to her patients’ needs and concerns. She considers herself a health partner and guides her patients through the web of sometimes contradictory medical opinions so they can make informed decisions about your health. At her private practice, she and her dedicated team offer a range of services, such as preventive medicine, physical exams, psychiatric assessments, skin revitalization with Botox®, Dysport®, and dermal fillers, menopause treatment, second opinions, and skin cancer screenings.
