🧸✨ Let’s Talk About Toy Rotation! ✨🧸
If you’ve ever noticed our play areas looking a little different from week to week… that’s intentional. 💛
We rotate toys weekly because we love giving our kiddos the chance to explore something new. A fresh setup can spark curiosity, boost excitement, and open the door for new skills to grow. Sometimes it just takes a small change in the environment to unlock something new.
There’s even research supporting this. A study published in Infant Behavior and Development by researchers at the University of Toledo found that when children have fewer toys available at one time, they tend to play longer, focus more deeply, and use their imagination in bigger ways.
And here’s the part we love —
Every Friday before they leave, our RBTs get creative. 🎨 They reset spaces, rotate materials, and make everything feel fresh and new for Monday morning. It’s one of the many quiet ways they pour into your kiddos behind the scenes.
Our discrete trial training (aka “table time”) rooms stay consistent and structured so learning remains predictable and supportive. But our play spaces are refreshed intentionally to encourage exploration and flexibility.
We also understand that change isn’t always easy. For some learners, even small differences in the environment can feel big. That’s okay. Those moments allow us to gently support flexibility, coping skills, and confidence in a safe, encouraging way — and we’re right there to help every step of the way.
And don’t worry — favorite toys aren’t gone forever. 💛
The toys that are put away are always available as reinforcement when requested appropriately or earned through hard work. We honor what your child loves while still encouraging growth.
We love watching our kiddos walk in on Monday ready to discover what’s waiting for them. ✨
Small steps every day lead to big changes.
