Today we’re remembering our former Chief Meteorologist, Skip Waters, on what would have been his 73rd birthday. Skip loved celebrating his St. Patrick’s Day birthday, and his impact across Eastern North Carolina is still felt today. The ENC icon passed away in 2014, but we continue to honor his legacy—because so many of you still remember him, too. Happy Birthday, Harold Ray “Skip” Waters!

On March 11, 2026 , Hope Clinic was grateful to be a part of the 30 local nonprofits blessed by the Carolina East Foundation!!

This funding will support Hope Clinic's continued mission to integrate a low barrier health care model that addresses substance use disorders , and other health barrier factors in every day primary care.

Because of this funding, and outpour of community support, we will continue to expand our comprehensive & compassionate whole person care model that promotes quality of life , by addressing all of the health factors and needs of each individual ( including substance use disorder, environmental & financial challenges)

As pictured below , Hope Clinic staff Lindsey Green Potter , Case Management, CADC-I and Jon Amundson , Certified Peer Support Specialist were honored to accept this funding on behalf of Hope Clinic and its programs.

please see the comments for pictures of other local nonprofits that participated, we tried to get as many as we could but couldn't get all !
