Slow down and discover the beauty in the everyday. 🌿
On June 6, join artist-photographer for The 72 Microseasons of the North & The Art of Noticing, a special two-part immersion rooted in her decade-long daily practice, STILL. For over ten years, Mary Jo has photographed found nature every single day, no subject too small or ordinary, uncovering powerful insights about connection, place, and creativity. Her acclaimed book, STILL: The Art of Noticing, now in its fifth printing, brings together 275 of these striking images alongside thoughtful and often humorous reflections.
✨ Session 1: The 72 Microseasons of the North (12:30–1:30 PM)
Inspired by the Japanese concept of microseasons, this session explores the subtle, ever-changing rhythms of nature. Through visual storytelling and guided creativity, you’ll create your own “still” compositions using foraged materials—an exercise in slowing down and truly seeing.
✨ Session 2: The Art of Noticing (7:30–8:30 PM)
Join Mary Jo for a guided foraging walk and hands-on workshop designed to shift your perspective. Using creative prompts and “selective filters,” you’ll learn how to see ordinary natural elements with fresh eyes and contribute to a collaborative nature-based installation.
✨ Complimentary for overnight guests
✨ Open to the community for a $25 drop-in
