Two of our new volunteers recently hosted a “gingerbread man cookie” making day at Croixdale. We had a lot of fun rolling out and cutting the dough - and decorating our lovely cookies with all the candies! And they were so delicious!

Christmas time is the best and so are our volunteers. We are blessed and wish many blessings upon you and your families this Christmas and in the new year.

Croixdale resident, author Meg Corrigan celebrated the recent release of her 3rd book by hosting a “1940s Officers Club”-themed book release party in our newly renovated Club Room - and what a fun time that was for all who attended.

Meg’s book, “Mercy More Than Life” is about her aunt’s real life experiences as a nurse living as a POW in the Philippines during WWII.

Croixdale residents who read the book are planning to schedule a book club to discuss it in early 2026.

How blessed are we to have such talent under our roof!

The Croixdale River Rats traveling balloon volleyball team recently participated in the Stonecrest Invitational in Woodbury. The Stoncrest Spikers brought their A-game as well as a fabulous cheering section and even their own cheerleaders. (Mental note to River Rats: need Pom Poms!)

The Rats won the first match and suffered a close loss in the 2nd match. The 3rd match was a solid win for the Spikers, and their first time bringing home the trophy! Thanks so much for hosting us. Fun was had by all.

Well the good thing about all that snow is that it was good luck for this morning’s annual turkey hunt at Croixdale. Thanks to our teen volunteers, our residents had lots of fun and lots of success shooting turkeys and cows and even squirrels and a dinosaur!

Once we had enough game to feed all of Croixdale (and probably all of Bayport), we aimed our Nerf guns at some tin cans and earned some new monikers like, “Dead-aim D” and “Jo-annie Oakley.”
