Recognizing that members of many minority groups in New York City have difficulty accessing available services because of language barriers, we have hired and trained people from diverse nationalities to make health-related services more available to such patients. In addition to working closely with local government social services, mental health departments, general health departments, hospitals, nursing homes, HMO and with agencies providing services for the disabled to make quality health care more accessible, we have also established joint projects with local schools and universities and are working closely with local leaders to serve a greater role in our community.
