Honoring Our Veterans This November 11
On this Veterans Day, we take a moment to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country. Their dedication, courage, and sacrifices have shaped our freedom and safety, and we owe them our deepest gratitude.
Let’s remember to honor not just those who served but also their families, who have stood by them through challenges and triumphs. Whether you’re attending a local ceremony, reaching out to a veteran in your life, or simply reflecting on their contributions, every act of appreciation counts.
As we celebrate, let’s also commit to supporting our veterans in their transition to civilian life, ensuring they receive the respect and resources they deserve.
Thank you, veterans, for your service and sacrifice. You are our heroes! ❤️

🌟 National Stress Awareness Day — November 6 🌟
Today, we pause to recognize National Stress Awareness Day, a reminder to check in with ourselves and take steps toward a calmer, healthier mind. 🧘‍♀️💚
Stress is a normal part of life — in small doses, it can help us stay focused and motivated. But when it builds up, it can take a real toll on our mental health, relationships, and physical well-being.
That’s why it’s so important to identify what’s causing stress in your life and learn healthy ways to manage it. Common sources include work pressures, financial worries, family challenges, and even health concerns.
Once you recognize your stressors, you can start building healthy habits to keep them in check:
✨ Develop coping strategies for anxiety and overwhelm.
✨ Focus on what you can control—and release what you can’t.
✨ Move your body regularly to release built-up tension.
✨ Nourish yourself with a balanced diet and restorative rest.
💬 Remember: stress management isn’t just about relaxing—it’s about protecting your mental health.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope, CAN Behavioral Health is here to help you find balance and peace of mind. Reach out to our team for guidance, counseling, and community support.
Let’s prioritize self-care and make space for calm—because your mental health matters. 💙

Domestic violence is often cyclical. Children and teens who witness abuse are more likely to repeat patterns as victims or perpetrators. This cycle is reinforced by untreated trauma, mental health struggles, and substance misuse.
But cycles can be broken. 💜 With counseling, education, and community support, survivors and families can heal and build safe, healthy futures.
Every conversation, every resource shared, and every show of support helps to change the story for the next generation. Together, we can break the cycle.

Parents: You play a vital role in protecting teens from dating violence.
Here’s how you can help:
👨‍👩‍👧 Model healthy relationships — children learn what love looks like from you.
💬 Talk openly about consent, respect, and digital boundaries.
🧠 Normalize conversations about mental health and substance use, reducing stigma so your teen feels safe sharing.
👂 Be approachable — listen without judgment.
📚 Provide resources — hotlines, peer groups, school counselors.
When teens know they are supported at home, they are more resilient to abusive relationships. Prevention begins with conversation.

Signs of Teen Dating Abuse
Teen dating abuse can look like:
🚩 Isolation from family/friends
🚩 Sudden mood swings or secrecy
🚩 Jealousy, possessiveness, or excessive “check-ins”
🚩 Monitoring social media or texts
🚩 Pressuring substance/alcohol use
🚩 Controlling access to money
These are warning signs, not signs of love. Abuse at a young age can leave deep scars, leading to lifelong struggles with anxiety, depression, or substance use.
By starting conversations early, we can give teens the tools to recognize healthy vs. unhealthy relationships.

Money can be a weapon, even in teen relationships. Abusers may:
💵 Pressure their partner to spend money on them
💵 Take or steal money from their partner
💵 Prevent them from working or keeping their earnings
💵 Use money or gifts as manipulation (“If you loved me, you’d…”)
When paired with substance use or untreated mental health issues, financial abuse can trap teens in unsafe relationships. Teaching young people about financial independence is a form of prevention.
Empowered teens are safer teens.

💜 Today is Wear Purple Day — a powerful show of unity and support for survivors everywhere. Wearing purple is more than a symbol; it’s a commitment to raising awareness and ending the cycle of violence.
Domestic violence also impacts teens. Nearly 1 in 3 teens reports experiencing dating abuse — whether physical, emotional, sexual, financial, or digital. Teens facing mental health or substance use challenges are even more vulnerable.
Parents, teachers, and peers play a vital role in helping teens recognize healthy vs. unhealthy behaviors in relationships.
