The notion of a God or many Gods, is but a human projection on to an object, that is beyond human understanding and direct experience. Like in this article, all religions are a reflection of culture and the development of the human psyche. All religions and forms of spirituality are equal in their attempt to communicate with the sacred in life. All of the many perspectives are unique, but in totality, express what it means to be human on the deepest level. Simply said, humans created the idea of a God or Gods, in an attempt to define that which cannot be defined. Whatever “ God “ may be or not be, is beyond human conception, and remains one of the greatest mysteries of existence.

Globally and locally, the implementation of the death penalty is a very contentious and challenging topic of discussion. While I am no expert on the topic, and have had differing opinions over the years, I feel that Singapore is getting it wrong here. Executing a human being with a learning disability and an IQ of 69, for drug smuggling, seems draconian and barbaric to me. Hopefully, global condemnation from the international community will help stop this horrific act from taking place.
