Is Your Child Fit To Learn?
Children who face challenges with the learning process are growing in number due to increasing academic, emotional, and mental demands throughout their school careers. To successfully meet these demands, student's require a level of "fitness" that supports the healthy development of a life-long learner. Students who are "fit to learn" demonstrate resiliency in overcoming barriers to the learning process, developing enviable problem solving skills, as well as mental and emotional grit that will allow them to fine tune their individual "superpower(s)" over time. Children desire to feel confident in their skills in school and in life.
We work with parents and children to identify each child's special "superpower(s)" using a strength-based approach to identify barriers to academic, emotional and mental progress. We conduct psycho-educational and academic assessments that provide clarity about your child's learning profile and ways to support the learning process for you and your child.
As an educator and a parent, I understand that supporting your child during these formative years requires an "all hands on deck" approach to making sure your child is successful. The most frustrating thing we face when our child is facing challenges is confusion about how to help them. I look forward to working with your family to find clarity together.
My name is Chaquita Miller, Psy.S., LSPSY, and I am a licensed school psychologist, health coach, and adoring mom of a school aged son. Over the past 7 years, I have had the pleasure of working with families in urban, private, community and clinical settings, helping parents, staff and children discover the best conditions for students to be successful.
