We join with family and friends as together we celebrate the life while mourning the loss of Beallsville resident, Chester Eugene Van Dyne who passed away on Tuesday, January 20 in the home that he loved surrounded by his family. Eugene will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a valued community servant, a proud US Air Force Veteran, and a friend to all. Visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel on Friday, January 23 from 4pm to 8pm where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24 at 1pm. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be presented at the funeral home by American Legion Post 768 just prior to the funeral service. With sadness we share the news of the passing of Beallsville (New Castle Community) resident, Joan Jenewein who passed away in WVU Wheeling Hospital, on Saturday, January 17. Joan will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving mother, a devoted sister, a loyal friend, a lover of animals and a hard-working lady who dedicated her life to helping and caring for others. We join with her family, her family-by-heart, her friends and neighbors as they mourn her loss while celebrating the beautiful life she lived. It is our honor to serve the family of Lester Howell of Jerusalem who passed away, Tuesday, December 30 at the Arbors of Woodsfield. Born August 16, 1940 near Beallsville, Lester was one of six children of the late John and Bertha Hoskinson Howell. He was a retired employee of the former ORMET Aluminum Corporation near Hannibal and he loved being outdoors. Lester will be remembered as a hard-working, devoted husband and a dedicated father and grandfather. Honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A "Celebration of Life" will be held later at a time of the family's choosing. Please remember the family, the “family-by-heart,” and the friends of Phyllis Palmer Ady, of Smithville, Ohio (and formerly of Monroe County), who passed away Saturday, November 1 in Wooster Community Hospital following a brief illness. Born on February 6, 1952 in Barnesville Hospital, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Henthorn Palmer. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ray, on July 7, 2018, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a caring sister, and a friend to all. With sadness we share the news of the passing of James "Stoney" Stonebreaker who passed away Monday, October 27 at his home. Stoney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and a friend to all. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. A proud US Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 768, Stoney was an employee of the Quarto #4 Mine and had retired from the McElroy Mine. Visitation will be held Friday, October 31 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville, and then again from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, November 1. Burial with full Military Honors by American Legion Post 768 will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose life exemplified kindness, compassion, grace, and faith. Visitation will be held at the Beallsville Church of Christ on Sunday, August 24 from 1pm until the time of her funeral service at 3pm.
