My birth support calendar is filling quickly, and I have limited availability through April.

Baby Boy is HERE! Mama was in labor for two days. She is incredibly strong

This is baby number 10! Can you believe it?! Mama says 10 is the lucky number, she is done after this little guy.

She was such a trooper and baby is beautiful and healthy.

Congratulations 🎉 mama!!!

It’s going to be a long night!

I am currently attending two births at the same time!

It was a matter of time for one mama who was in prodromal labor for the last few weeks. She was at 4cm for two weeks!

Another mama went in for something else and is staying!

Two babies pending! Very excited. Good thing I took a nap earlier 🙂. I have an idea of who will be delivering first.

What a turn of events! Welcome to the life of a doula…

The mom I was referring to a few days ago ended up being sent home to labor a bit more as her contractions stopped, water was still in tact and she was not dilating further. Baby can cook for as long as she would like.

In the interim, another baby girl from another couple I am working with was born and made her debut a few hours ago!!! Mom labored extremely quick!

My head is spinning 😵‍💫! I love the work that I do! Its truly full of surprises.

Excited!! I am taking on my first birth of 2026!

Another baby girl making an early debut at a few days shy of 35 weeks gestation! Mama is having strong contractions and she is 3 cm, 50% Effaced upon admission.

This is baby number 4! Mom has a history of fast and early labors! We shall see ❤️

Here I am with a cooler from DoorDash packing a whole organ ! 😄🧊
It’s a placenta!
Packing it with ice helps keep it properly preserved until encapsulation or whatever the family has planned next.

Birth work doesn’t stop after the baby arrives sometimes it just involves a cooler and a lot of intention. Plus, I love a good challenge 🙌🏃‍♀️

Allow me to reintroduce myself! Welcome to my new followers and those who are curious 🧐 about me and what I do.

My name is Akaila, I am a birth & postpartum doula and maternal health advocate serving families in Northeastern PA.

I support parents through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum and not in a “just get through it” kind of way.

I support you in a ‘you deserve to be held, informed, and supported’ kind of way.

Here’s what that actually looks like:
• Hands-on birth support for parents
• Postpartum care that prioritizes the mother, not just the baby

I believe we talk too much about the wrong things when it comes to preparing for parenthood. Its usually all about the gadgets and the techniques, but nobody ever prepares you for the support YOU will need for your own well being.

Spent a few hours today hanging out with this little guy and his mommy running errands & assisting in the home.

He was recently promoted to Big Brother status as mom recently welcomed his baby brother! He cannot get enough of him.

Mom is now officially part of the 2 under 2 club, so she surely could use extra hands after birth!

Such a sweet baby, bursting with energy! As a boy mom myself, I totally relate to the hugs and endless kisses coupled with constant energy! They just keep going and going.

I love what I do! I love when families hire me postpartum. I end up becoming an integral part of the village. And thats my goal ❤️
