In loving memory of Gilbert F. "Gillie" Withrow.
He loved the open air where wide skies roam,
Strong hands at work, building more than a home.
He served with honor, steady, faithful, and true,
Answering duty in all he would do.

His faith was a compass through seasons and days,
A quiet assurance that guided his ways.
Now he rests in peace where heaven draws nigh,
Built well, lived fully—forever held high.

Final part of our series. We are talking about public health regulations and legal documents, and why they matter when it comes to where ashes can be buried.

Funny how tastes follow us.
This was something I only found up north or in Michigan as a kid — now I see it more often, and I think it explains my love for ginger to this day.

What flavor brings back a memory for you?

“Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, we are free at last.”
Today we honor the life, legacy, and enduring hope of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
May his words continue to inspire unity, peace, and service.

In loving memory of Carole Ann Bowman.

When a hummingbird appears nearby,
Pause your step and lift your eye.
For in its wings so swift and light,
Lives love that never left your sight.

It comes to whisper, not goodbye,
But gentle proof that souls still fly.
A sign of joy, of love made new,
A quiet hello sent straight to you.

So when you see that shimmered wing,
Remember this sweet visiting—
Those we love don’t truly part,
They live forever in the heart.
