The McTeer Bridge, named after former Beaufort County Sheriff James Edwin McTeer Jr., has been a vital link between Port Royal and Lady's Island since its completion in the early 1980s. This 4,211-foot-long bridge not only facilitates daily commutes but also offers breathtaking views of the Beaufort River and the surrounding marshlands. In 2011, an identical second span was added to accommodate increasing traffic and enhance safety.
