Who is The Military Veteran Peer Network and what do they do??

Here is some of what your Military Veteran Peer Network does, we connect Veterans, Service Members and their families to local, state and national resources. We hold events, meetings and programs in order to provide opportunities to meet other service members, veterans and families in your community to build a network of support and understanding.

The Beaumont Chapter of MVPN service Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson and Orange Counties and is in partnership with local, state and national resources that offer the following services:

- Military-to-Civilian Transition Counseling
- VA Claims and Benefits Assistance
- Marital and Family Counseling
- Financial and Legal Assistance
- PTSD and TBI Treatment
- Depression, Anger and Anxiety
- Alcohol and Substance Abuse
- Military Sexual Trauma
- Education and Job Training
- Homeless Assistance

Services provided by your local MVPN are all free of charge, so if you or someone you know is seeking assistance or just needs to ask questions on how to file a claim feel free to contact your MVPN Peer Service Coordinator directly at 409-926-6392!

Peer support is the process of giving encouragement or assistance to overcome a challenge in life by someone with lived experience. Peer workers can be people who experience the challenges themselves, or family members with loved ones who experienced such challenges and use their lived experience to guide others through the process of change.

Thanks again to Lumberton ISD for inviting us to be part of Episode 2 of their video podcast🎥! The episode is full of helpful tips, tools, and meaningful conversations aimed at supporting our Raiders through the holiday season’s ups and downs.

We were excited to take part in this parent/student initiative and share insights on navigating this busy season—and really, challenges that can pop up any time of year.

The Roy & M. Permenter Charitable Trust through HHancock Whitneyhas awarded a grant to Spindletop Center to support our Supportive Housing programs! 🎉

This grant will help us provide "move in kits" to residents, transforming empty spaces into comforting homes. 🏠✨ Our goal is to empower individuals to live independently by offering skills training, supportive services, and more.

We're grateful for this partnership in helping our clients start strong on their journey to self-sufficiency. 🙌

🌟 Exciting News from Spindletop Center! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $2,500 grant to transform our Substance Use Treatment Group Therapy Room and common area in Orange County! 🛋️🎨

This space is crucial for providing a safe and comfortable environment for group therapy sessions held multiple times a week. Research has shown that the choice of paint colors in a space and art can significantly aid in healing; so that's exactly what we did by rejuvenating the room with calming colors to create a welcoming atmosphere for relaxation and conversation.

A special thank you to the United Way of Orange County for their support and providing this community IMPACT opportunity. Your generosity has made this vision a reality! 💙💚
