It’s MAR10 Day! Leveling up skills one power-up at a time in OT, PT, and Speech.
OT = collecting coins is great fine motor practice, sensory play, and daily life skills—Mario Day style!
PT= jump like Mario, balance like Luigi! PT helps kids build strength, balance, and coordination
Speech= break out your favorite way to play Mario and practice preposition skills like on, off, in, and under.

Therapy isn’t a race—it’s a game with checkpoints, power-ups, and big wins!

This week at Shorkey, we enjoyed camping themed books and even went on our own mini camping adventures. The children explored wildlife, practiced pitching a tent, and pretended to roast marshmallows. It was a fun, hands-on way to bring our stories to life. 🏕️🦌🎣

We had so much fun celebrating the joy of reading all week long, and today our office and some of our awesome kids topped it off by wearing our favorite hats!

Dressing up as your favorite book character brings the story to life!

Character Day isn’t just fun — it’s a wonderful way to build:
🗣 Speech & Language – Retelling the story, describing characters, and answering questions.
✋ Occupational Skills – Planning costumes, dressing up, and practicing fine motor tasks.
🏃 Physical Skills – Acting out scenes and moving like your character.
💭 Social Skills – Taking turns, role-playing, and interacting with peers.

We are celebrating reading with sock day — because learning happens from head to toe!

👀 Head – Looking at pictures builds attention and comprehension.
👂 Ears – Listening to stories strengthens language and memory.
🗣 Mouth – Repeating words and sounds supports speech development.
✋ Hands – Turning pages and pointing to pictures builds fine motor skills.
🦶 Toes (and socks!) – Wiggling, stomping, or acting out stories keeps little bodies engaged and learning!

Try this at home: Read a favorite book while wearing silly or colorful socks. Each time you hear a special word, wiggle your toes or stomp your feet! Movement + literacy = stronger learning connections.

This week we’re celebrating Read Across America along with Dr. Seuss’s birthday! 📚🎉 Today we’re dressing up in our favorite sports team gear. At our clinic, we believe reading isn’t something kids do alone — it’s a TEAM effort!

When parents, caregivers, teachers, and therapists work together, children build stronger language, attention, motor, and comprehension skills. Thank you for being a part of our team!
