Last week, Maggie Lucia Dixson, Human Resources Coordinator at Broussard’s, and our spring semester intern, Humberto Cervantes Malagon, had the honor of serving as panelists during Lamar University’s College of Business Internship Panel, part of the university’s Business Week.

Broussard’s is proud to participate in the internship program developed by Lamar University College of Business in partnership with the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce. During the panel, Maggie and Humberto shared their experiences with the program, discussing the value of hands-on learning and how internships can translate into real-world career opportunities.

We were grateful for the opportunity to represent Broussard’s, connect with students, and highlight the importance of developing future professionals in our community. As a Lamar alum, it was especially meaningful for Maggie to return to campus and engage with the next generation of business leaders.

We're proud to spotlight our Spring 2026 intern, Humberto Cervantes Malagon!

A Marketing & Finance major at Lamar University, Humberto has been working with Broussard's this semester through the internship program hosted by the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and Lamar University's College of Business. During his time with us, he has gained hands-on experience while supporting our team members. Humberto has been especially involved in the digitization and preservation of historical records.

We're grateful to be part of a program that connects Lamar's students with local businesses, and we're glad to have Humberto with us this semester!

We gathered today to send off Jerry Wayne Dupree into retirement! Wayne dedicated 26 years to Broussard's and worked alongside three generations of Broussard's--no small fete! Today, we’re celebrating Jerry Wayne Dupree as he retires from his role as Fleet Manager. Jerry Wayne has been a part of the Broussard’s team since October 1999, and over the past 26 years, his dedication and hard work have played an important role in supporting services across all of our locations. We’re incredibly grateful for the many years he has spent serving Broussard’s and for the care he has shown in his work.

Today we recognize Funeral Director and Mortician Day and want to take a moment to thank the incredible professionals who serve families through Broussard’s.

Our funeral directors and morticians walk alongside families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, providing compassion, guidance, and care when it is needed most. The dedication they bring to this work and the respect they show to every family make a lasting difference in our communities.

We are grateful for each of them and the meaningful work they do every day. Thank you for serving our families with such dignity and heart.

This week we had the pleasure of celebrating Staff Appreciation Day by delivering lunch to all of our locations.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassionate, dedicated team at Broussard’s who serve families in our communities with such care and professionalism every single day. The work they do during life’s most difficult moments truly makes a difference, and we are thankful for each member of our staff.

Please join me in congratulating Greg Collins on an exciting milestone!

Greg has been a valued member of the Broussard’s team since 2018, serving as a Transporter and Apprentice. He graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services in December 2025 with his Associates of Applied Science and recently passed the Board Exams.

We are incredibly proud of his dedication and hard work over the years and look forward to watching him continue to grow and serve families in this next chapter of his career.
