Happy Nurse Practitioner Week! As we commemorate NP week, let's also reflect on the opportunities ahead: greater awareness, and commitment to keep our healthcare system stronger. To all our patients, your voices and votes will help us prosper by filling the gaps in care access, expanded practice authority, and recognizing that we are vital members of the community. Over the years, our practice has proven that we can provide the best quality care possible to our patients.

Don't get us wrong… we are not in competition with MDs, and MD-owned clinics need nurse practitioners as a proven part of most medical systems. Please bear in mind that we have our own regulatory boards, our own licenses, certification, and practice insurances. I cannot identify a medical profession that pays supervisory physicians monthly fees just to practice independently as an NP.

We are honored to have been recognized as top clinicians in the Houston Metro, Southeast Texas, and Southwest Texas regions by Wellmed (United Healthcare) and Optum during their virtual meeting last night. Our clinic in Beaumont, Texas, distinguished itself as the only one in the area to receive this prestigious recognition. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our staff, providers, and, most importantly, our patients, for their trust in us and for enabling us to deliver exceptional care.
