Livingston Scott was born on April 19, 1942, in Deweyville, Texas, to Mr. Marshall Scott Sr. and Rozelia “Snook” Scott. He was affectionately known as “Slim” by family and friends.

Livingston was introduced to Christ at an early age by his parents and was baptized at African Methodist Episcopal Faith Church, where he began his lifelong journey of servanthood. His faith in Christ never wavered. He remained steadfast in the Word of God and faithfully shared it with others, knowing that faith is what sustains us throughout life.

Livingston received his education through the Beaumont Independent School District. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for two years (1967–1969). During his service, he was designated as an Airborne Specialist, courageously jumping from aircraft and serving in the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, Slim returned to Beaumont, Texas, where he began working at Mavry Foundry and later continued his career in construction as a skilled roofer.

Slim loved life, his family, cooking, and connecting with people from all walks of life. He was well known for his warm personality and was a humble showman who took pride in his style of dress and his presence on the dance floor.

Later in life, Livingston “Slim” Scott built a lasting legacy through his children: Danielle Washington (deceased), Daphne Washington, Livingston Junior Washington, and Jamie Stevens (Joseph) of Austin, Texas. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings, who carry forward his love, kindness, wisdom, and spirit of generosity in their own unique ways.

He leaves to cherish his memory his special friend, Jeannette Morgan; his siblings, Jo’helen Jenkins, Evangelist Marion Jackson, and Eddie Scott (Alice); his children, Daphne Washington, Livingston Washington, and Jamie Stevens (Joseph), Kimberly Price (Cornell), Tiah Williams, Kevin Scott Washington; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wallace 'Lil Flap' Franklin, Jr.

Services are Saturday, Apr. 11, 2026, Paradise Baptist Church 4390 Fannett Rd. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 1PM until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will begin at Live Oak Cemetery Beaumont, TX.

Wallace Jerome Franklin, Jr., was born on July 16, 1986, to Betty Morris and Wallace Franklin, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas.

Wallace graduated from Ozen High School and then attended Butler Community College in Eldorado, Kansas, where he earned his Business Degree and later moved to Iowa, where he played football for Iowa State University.

Wallace later moved to Fulton, Missouri, to pursue a career as an Executive French Chef in one of the finest restaurants in Fulton. His dedication to the quality and presentation of his cuisines were honored and remembered as being intentional, disciplined, and unmatched. His work spoke for itself. He gave great attention to the detail and quality of his exquisite work. Pure culinary genius.

Wallace Franklin, Jr., also known as Lil Flap, was an individual who brought light into any space he stepped into. Wallace was more than an athlete who played for Iowa State; in fact, that was only a small percentage of who he was. Since he was a kid, he loved football, track, fishing, dancing, singing, and bowling. As time passed, he grew a strong passion for cooking, and for a significant period of his life, making a career of cooking was what he desired most. Above all, Wallace was a man who loved his family and had an even deeper love and care for his children.

Wallace is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Barbara Johnson and Selenna Franklin, his grandfathers, Billy Ray Franklin and Wilson Leday.

On March 26, 2026, Wallace took flight home, leaving to cherish his loving memories, his mother Betty Morris, his father Wallace Franklin, Sr., his sisters Stacey Morris, Jaqueline Warner (Charles, III), and Jaquisha Jackson. His sons, Jerome Jeremiah Franklin and Josiah Jireh Franklin, his daughters, Milahna Raine Franklin and Ariahna Willow, his nieces, Janiyiah Banks, Carrington, and Carmen Warner, his nephews Ke'Shawn Morris and Reginald O'Brien, and his great-nephew E'Shawn Morris, and a special friend, Christana Iyayi.

She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Houston, graduating cm laude in 1998, followed by a Master of Arts from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1999. She later completed PhD studies at the University of Houston, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to learning and excellence. She later served as an adjunct professor at Houston Baptist University while completing clinical studies at MHMRA as part of her Healthcare Administration master's program.

In 2007, Dawn joined Texas Children's Hospital, where she served for more than 16 years.

As a Senior Organization Development Specialist, she led performance management initiatives and played a pivotal role in launching Voyager. Her colleagues fondly recall her unmatched humor, quick wit, and ability to make even the most challenging training sessions enjoyable. "No one has been able to make people laugh while training on performance management since," they shared. "She was lion-hearted and would do anything for those she cared about."

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dawn was a woman of boundless generosity, philanthropy, and compassion. She volunteered throughout her life, giving freely of her time, talent, and heart. She loved to cook for others, embraced adventurous eating, and especially adored spicy foods and Asian cuisine. Her home was a reflection of her joy—beautifully decorated for every holiday and celebration.

Affectionately known as , Dawn had more than 35 years of pet-care experience and operated a thriving dog-sitting business. She often joked, "Furry babies are my favorite obsession—so much so that I've built a full-scale dog park in my backyard!" She rescued more than 70 stray dogs over the last decade, finding each one a loving, forever home. Her clients trusted her deeply, knowing their pets were in a nurturing, attentive, and loving environment.

A fitness enthusiast and excellent swimmer, Dawn also served as the aerobics instructor at 2111 Holly Hall for more than 21 years, inspiring countless individuals to pursue healthier lives.

Dawn was blessed to celebrate her 50th birthday jubilee on February 16, 2026.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Merkel "MC" Jones and by her two "fur-baby-boys" Rambo and Kujo. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Joan Jones; brother, Charles Jones; nephew Braylon Jones; maternal aunts, Carolyn Broussard, Vickie Jones (Terry aka Uncle Boo); paternal aunts, Mary Alice Jones, Velma Jones Young; paternal uncle, Melvin Jones; maternal uncles, Donald Harmon, Chris Harmon, and Anthony Harmon (Edith); her two fur babies, Bella and Harley, and a host of other cousins, close relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Though she had no children of her own, Dawn nurtured the lives of many-tamily, friends, colleagues, clients, neighbors, and especially the children she loved as her own. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her light, laughter, wisdom, and generosity will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family invites all who were touched by Dawn's life to join in celebrating her extraordinary legacy by volunteering, participating in community service efforts in your community, rescuing animals, and deepening your faith walk with Christ.
