No matter how carefully I choose my words, they seem to pass right through you. What reaches you isn’t what I’m saying, it’s what you’re ready to hear.

And that realization hurts more than silence. Because speaking without being received slowly teaches the heart to retreat. It makes you wonder if there’s meaning in explaining, in clarifying, in opening up at all.

This isn’t about being unheard, it’s about being unseen.
