Church Health Services Welcomes Mary Vogl-Rauscher as New Executive Director

The Church Health Services (CHS) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Vogl-Rauscher as the organization’s new Executive Director.

As CHS refines its mission and sharpens its focus on two critical Key Community Provider Areas—Mental Health and Dentistry—Mary brings the leadership, passion, and experience needed to guide the organization into its next chapter.

Rick Vant Hoff, Board President, shared: "After serving on the CHS Board for 10 years, and most recently as President, I’m confident that Mary has the passion for this organization along with the knowledge and background to address the challenges we’re currently facing. Her leadership will be instrumental in helping CHS refocus and move forward."

Mary Vogl-Rauscher brings a wealth of volunteer experience and deep roots in the local nonprofit community. She currently serves as Secretary for the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation (BDACF), Treasurer for the Beaver Dam Area Orchestra (BDAO), and is an active Chamber Ambassador. She also contributes at both the state and local levels to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

In addition to her volunteerism, Mary has a strong background in fundraising, having raised over $500,000 for Swan Park and secured 100% funding for the pop-up park located at Park and Center Streets.

Professionally, Mary brings over 25 years of experience to her new role. She has served as a Leadership Development Instructor at Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC), a Human Resources Business Partner at Kraft Heinz, and an HR Consultant at Richards Benefits and Financial Services. She holds an MBA from Marquette University.

Vant Hoff concluded: "The Board is confident that Mary will implement the changes needed to ensure that Church Health Services continues to meet the needs of those we serve in the community."

Two Women Who Believe in Giving Back

What started as a simple haircut turned into a heartwarming partnership rooted in community support and generosity.

Kathy Laatsch, a creative and talented artisan, was getting her hair cut by Ann Kulka, owner of Barber-Ann’s, when the idea for a charitable collaboration began. Kathy handcrafts a variety of items- hats, mittens, scarves, blankets, throws, and even pet toys—and she is passionate about giving back to the community. For the past two years, she has made these items for a local nonprofit, while Ann has generously offered to sell them at her salon, donating 100% of the proceeds to support the cause.

This year, as they discussed which organization to support, the choice became clear. Both women are friends with Mary Vogl-Rauscher and Ann rents space from CHS Board Member Rich Zieman—making CHS a meaningful and natural fit.

Handcrafted items are now available for purchase at Barber-Ann’s, located at 211 Corporate Drive, from now until Christmas.
Please consider stopping by to support this heartfelt project. CHS is deeply grateful to Ann and Kathy for their continued generosity and commitment to making a difference in our community.

Remembering a Community Leader

Dave Fister, former owner of Richard’s Insurance, was deeply committed to supporting his community and local families. His legacy of service and generosity continues to impact many lives.

One organization Dave and his family strongly supported was Church Health Services (CHS), especially for its work in youth mental health within the Beaver Dam School District.

“Family and children are a priority for our family,” shared Danielle Fister, Dave’s wife. “The work CHS is doing in the BD School District in the mental health arena is important... We believe every young person deserves access to the care and support they need... where mental health care is accessible, compassionate, and stigma-free.”

Danielle added, “Dave and I believe we need to support local organizations. CHS provides dental services to all community members, not just children, that are low income uninsured or underinsured. Our family is proud to support this very worthy organization.”

In honor of Dave’s life, $6,396 was donated to CHS through memorial contributions—continuing his commitment to ensuring youth have access to the care they need to thrive.

We are so grateful for our partnership with Summit Ford! 💙

Today, Mary and Monica stopped by to drop off snacks and sunscreen for our Little Free Pantry. These thoughtful donations will definitely be appreciated by those who rely on the pantry.

As a self-sustaining resource, our pantry depends on generous contributions from local businesses like Summit Ford, as well as from individuals in our community. The Little Free Pantry operates on a simple but powerful principle:
“Take what you need, leave what you can.”

Thank you to all of our donors and supporters for helping us keep this important resource going strong! 🌟
