❄️ Hello December, hello fresh snow… and hello new yoga offerings! ❄️

This month gets full fast: holidays, family, travel, year-end to-dos. But remember: yoga doesn’t subtract from your life… it supports it. It steadies you, softens the edges, brings you back to yourself. Filling your cup is never a wrong mov, especially now.

Along with all our regular Elevated Yoga Studio classes (both floor and aerial!), here are the new offerings as we step into December:

✨ Chair Yoga & Relaxation Techniques – Watermark
Tuesdays • 9:45 AM
A brand-new session begins this week. Gentle movement + relaxation tools at a truly accessible rate, an investment in your well-being that fits every budget.

✨ Graceful Yoga – Watermark
Wednesdays • 5:30 PM
A new session of this beloved class also begins this week. Beautiful, nourishing movement at unmatched value — my thank-you to this wonderful community.

✨ Yoga Nidra – Kairos, Waupun
Thursday • 5:30 PM
Your end-of-year pause. Rest, reflect, replenish. A guided deep-rest practice to melt the overwhelm.

✨ Beginner Aerial Yoga Series – Elevated Studio
Thursdays in December • 6:30 PM
For anyone curious about taking flight, this is a welcoming, beginner-friendly series to explore aerial foundations.

✨ Breathing for Nervous System Regulation – Free Online Masterclass
Friday • 12:00 PM
A free 45-minute workshop to understand how your breath can be a powerful tool for grounding and calming during holiday busyness.

All of this is offered in addition to our full December schedule of regular floor and aerial classes at the studio. There is space for you — to move, to breathe, to unwind, to reconnect.

Practicing together by candlelight felt grounding, calming and truly special.
There was something magical about moving and breathing together in a softly lit, winter-inspired space. It was the perfect way to end the long Thanksgiving weekend. 🕯️❄️

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped fill the space (almost to the brim!). Your warmth and presence made the room glow even brighter than the candles.

Welcoming all levels at the studio on Friday morning (9:30am) for a "digest and de-stress" yoga class. We’ll use gentle twists and soothing forward folds to give your digestion a friendly nudge, a few active flows to get our inner fire ignited, but mostly calming poses and breathwork to settle your nervous system back into peace-on-earth mode.

Today we practice the most advanced pose of all: Gratitude… with a generous side of mashed potatoes. 😃

May your turkey be juicy, your relatives peaceful, and your waistband stretchy.

And remember that deep breaths are scientifically proven to help you survive family gatherings, awkward conversations and overcooked pies.

This holiday, let’s honor the balance between mindfulness and mind-full-of-pumpkin-pie.

Jokes set aside, I’m truly grateful for this community. Your dedication, your presence, and the way you show up.

What Really Happens on a Yoga Retreat?

People think retreats are all yoga mats and quiet moments, but the real magic in the retreats I like to lead is in the connections, the joy, and the unexpected adventures.

And we had plenty of these sweet memories to last a lifetime in our previous retreat.

Like the time everyone broke into a synchronized “egg beater” dance behind my back during beach yoga, trying (and failing) not to burst out laughing.

Or when a massive Midwest travel meltdown made every participant miss the ferry… and instead of stressing, they teamed up, laughed in the face of adversity and arrived the second morning already bonded like old friends.

Or the day the island lost power and dinner became an improvised, joy-filled feast - grilled fresh fish tacos, warm breezes, and laughter drifting into the dark Puerto Rican sky.

That’s what actually happens on retreat: connection, adventure, embracing island life with all it's charms, and simple moments that become the stories you never forget.

You’ll enjoy daily yoga and mindful movement, five nights in a private hilltop villa with ocean views, and nourishing meals prepared by our private chef. We’ll explore hidden beaches and nature spots across Vieques, and you’ll experience either a bioluminescent bay kayak or a beach horseback adventure. There’s plenty of intentional rest time: pool lounging, ocean swims, journaling, snorkeling, or simply doing nothing at all. All the logistics are taken care of from the moment you arrive to the moment you head home. 🤗

How many times have you been angry, anxious, or overwhelmed and someone simply said, “Just breathe”?

Sometimes it feels so unhelpful, almost irritating, that it makes you want to do the opposite. 😡

And then come the questions: How exactly am I supposed to breathe? How much? What does “breathing differently” even mean? What’s the most effective breath for this moment? And why are you telling me to breathe when I’m literally breathing all the time? 😤

The truth is, not all breaths are created equal. The right kind of intentional breathing can shift your nervous system in real time - if you know how.

I’m teaching a free online masterclass on breathing for nervous system regulation on December 5 at noon.
A recording will be available for everyone who registers. This session will also lead into a deeper, more comprehensive course beginning in January.

Quick update for this coming week - no classes Wednesday or Thursday, but we’ve added TWO special holiday treats to keep you feeling good:
