Beaver County Health Department Welcome to the page for the Beaver County Health Department. We hope it is helpful for the health of yourself, your family, and our communities.

Beaver County Health Department meets health needs for all stages in your life. We provide family planning services, WIC (women, infants, and children) Nutrition Program, immunizations, and communicable disease and control. The health department is also responsible for consumer protection and the inspection of restaurants, hotels/motels, as well as public health-related complaints. The Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Department of Education have partnered to provide SoonerStart (Early Intervention) to assist families with children who may be experiencing developmental delays. All of the services offered through the Beaver County Health Department are overseen by trained and qualified staff.

It’s important to remember, during National Children’s Dental Health Month, that drinking sugary beverages can put your child at a higher risk for dental cavities. Juice is high in sugar, low in fiber, and high in calories.

Limit these types of beverages and encourage drinking water as your child’s drink of choice. Set the example of taking care of your smile, both of you will benefit from the results!

We do not brag on our staff enough!

Today we learned the amazing Texas County Health Department team are Lead Screening Rate Improvement Champions!!

➡️Raise in rankng for highest screening rates of 12 and 24 month olds.
➡️Having improved from 73rd (2019) to 13th (2025)
➡️Highest percentage of improvement of any county.
➡️One of the counties targeted in FY media campaign.
➡️Nearly 70% of tests for kids were performed by the County Health Department.
➡️Testing rates used to be regularly under 20%, now almost 50%.

Signs and symptoms of cancer depend on where the cancer is, how big it is, and how much it affects nearby organs or tissues. If a cancer has spread, signs or symptoms may appear in different parts of the body.

Today is National Strawberry Day! Strawberries are full of vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, making them a great addition to any meal or snack. Looking for a delicious way to incorporate frozen strawberries this winter? Check out this easy Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Bar recipe featuring all WIC approved ingredients!

Ingredients:
-2 cups rolled oats
-1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
-2 large bananas, mashed
-1/4 cup chopped frozen strawberries, thawed and drained (to mix in)
-1/4 cup chopped frozen strawberries, thawed and drained (to top)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Coat an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, banana, and peanut butter and mix thoroughly. Fold in ¼ cup strawberries.
3. Transfer the batter to the greased pan and spread out evenly. Top with the remaining strawberries and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
4. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting.

This is because respiratory viruses can cause important body systems to struggle. While their body is under this strain, it can be harder to deal with the additional stress of a respiratory virus.
