Clifford D. Harris, born August 8, 1932 in Pike Co. Ohio, departed this life peacefully on October 24, 2025 in Columbus, OH. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired Supply Technician from Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC/DSCC).
Cliff met Elizabeth “Betty” Brown and married August 8, 1957. To this union three children were born: Carolyn, Vicki, and Traci Harris in which all are surviving and of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren (Victor and Robert Harris, Kenya Cortledge), 3 great-grandchildren (Champagne (Victor) Franklin, Camryn Nellon, Milan Harris), 2 great, great-grandchildren (Shaunelle and Victory Franklin); Siblings: Syvilla Good of Chillicothe, OH and Joe Harris of Beaver, OH; Niece: Norma Jean whom he grew up with and thought of as a sister; long time companion and dear friend Ms. Mary Galloway; in-laws: Eugene and Katherine Brown; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by our beloved mother Elizabeth “Betty” Harris, granddaughter Shaunay Taylor, parents Flossie Mae and Clarence Edward Harris, 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Cliff was a member and attended Southfield Missionary Baptist Church until he could no longer drive. He was active in his love of sports by playing softball, basketball and bowling (I can see him now sliding across the lanes on his knees when he knew he threw a strike ball). He continued his love of softball by becoming an umpire at Berliner Park, formerly Greenlawn. He was inducted into the Columbus Slo-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. He never missed a Cleveland “Brownies” Browns or Ohio State Buckeyes football game on tv even when they went to streaming we made sure he still got to see the game. I remember him telling me they used to jump the fence when he was younger to see the Buckeyes. He was a pretty good card player also which came with a lot of trash talk. No matter what card game was being played he would call it “Cliff winning”. In May 2025 he had the honor of being invited on the Military Honor Flight in Marion OH since he
couldn't make it to DC and he thoroughly enjoyed himself making sure he shook every person's hand during the exit parade.

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (for we walk by faith, not by sight:) we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:6-8
